Storefront Settings Drafts
Storefront Settings Drafts is a powerful feature designed to streamline the editing and publishing workflow for your team. This feature allows multiple team members to work on different versions of the same Storefront Settings without interfering with each other's work.
What are Storefront Settings Drafts?
Storefront Settings Drafts enable you to create and maintain different versions of Storefront Settings for testing, feedback, or review purposes. Each draft is a separate version of the Storefront Settings that can be modified independently of others. This is particularly useful when:
- Multiple team members need to work on the same Storefront Settings
- You want to experiment with different designs or content arrangements
- You need to prepare updates ahead of time without affecting the live Storefront Settings
- You want to gather feedback on different versions before publishing

To access the Storefront Settings Drafts feature:

The dropdown menu displays all available drafts for the current Storefront Settings:
- Primary Draft: This is the main version of the Storefront Settings
- Custom Drafts: Additional versions created by you or your team members
Creating a New Draft
To create a new draft:
- Make your desired changes to the Storefront Settings
- When saving, instead of clicking the Save button, click the dropdown arrow next to it
- Select "Save as a new draft"
- Enter a unique name for your draft
- Click "Continue"
- You will now be in the new draft and the dropdown will show the new draft as the active draft
Each draft requires a name for identification purposes.
Switching Between Drafts
To switch between different drafts:
- Click the Drafts dropdown menu in Storefront Settings
- Select the draft you want to view or edit
When you switch to a different draft, you'll see that particular version of the Storefront Settings loaded in the Customizer and the dropdown will show the new draft as the active draft.

Editing Drafts
Each draft can be edited independently:
- Select the draft you want to edit from the Drafts dropdown
- Make your changes to the Storefront Settings
- Save your changes to update that specific draft
Your changes will only affect the currently selected draft, leaving other drafts unchanged.
Publishing Drafts
When you're ready to make a draft live:
- Find the draft you want to publish from the Drafts dropdown in Storefront Settings
- Click on the three dots and click on the "Set draft as primary" button
- Click the "Publish" button within Storefront Settings.
The selected draft will replace the live version of the Storefront Settings.
To publish a draft, it must be set as the primary draft. This way you will not accidentally publish a draft that is not ready.
